What did the Anime Industry offer at Otakon 2010?

We enjoyed the fandom and excitement of Otakon (look at our Facebook fan page), but John from JunkerWoland is giving us a full understanding on what the industry end of it was doing. Did they "bring it" or was it "already brought-en"? I just laughed after typing that last bit.

Emerald Chasers: The Sonic the Hedgehog REMIX Album!!

Ray Riley aka Shinigami, the head of the J1 Sound Team has put together an album based on the music from the Sonic the Hedgehog game series. After seeing all the game footage of Sonic 4, and Sonic Colors he couldn't help but to make these awesome remixes. Jason Richardson did the album art. :)

PS: Notice that Sonic & Dr Eggman have headphones, and that Eggman has turntables. Oh, his hovercraft says REMIX & SCRATCH!

Blackberry Torch 9800 announced/reviewed

The long awaited new Blackberry has finally been announced, priced, and given a release date.  Called the Blackberry Torch 9800, and sporting RIM's new OS 6 this touchscreen slider has been on the top of peoples most wanted list since it was leaked months ago.  Is Blackberry primed to take back the title as smartphone king?

FOX must really love Gordon Ramsay. They have brought three of his shows over from across the pond to America. The latest is Masterchef. Apparently it's a big deal in 110 other countries. Truth about some rumors...

Okay so we have a tiny update today. We had a list of rumors on what you will be seeing in the future from J1 Studios, and well for once there hasn't been a lot of them coming true (at least right away). 

1. New anime review section (Yes, J1 Culture Force)

2. Music review/gossip section (Still in talks) 

3. A ton of new shirt designs (there has been a few new shirts, at least 5)

4. A whole new section for the games we are working on (from what I heard they are working on that).

5. An art contest (Don't know)

So some have been true some are not while others are on their way. If you have any question let us know via email or through the J1 Forum!

OTAKON 2010

Over the weekend some of us from J1 Studios happened to be in Baltimore, Maryland. Why you ask? Well for the 2010 Otaku Convention (Otakon for short). For those who don't know, Otakon (oh-tah-kon) is a fan convention in the United States focusing on East Asian popular culture (primarily anime, manga, music, and cinema) and its fandom. The name is a portmanteau derived from convention and the Japanese word otaku (obsessed fan).

Otakon is traditionally held on a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in late summer at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland's Inner Harbor district. Otakon is one of the longest-running Anime conventions in the United States, and the second largest, averaging over 22,000 paid attendees since 2005.

SAY WHAT?!?! Ok, so we learned that Babylon is Hadrian's mother, and now if you go back to issue 1 where she introduces her starts to makes sense. She was more than just a simple follower of Helsyn, she was a love interest. What caused he to be exiled hasn't been explained...
